Alliance for Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare Releases “The Lifecycle of an AI System in Healthcare” Whitepaper
Global advocacy group releases guidance for responsible adoption of AI/ML technology across life sciences and healthcare
BALTIMORE, Md. – 13 June 2022 – Alliance for Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare (AAIH), a 501(c)(4) non-profit advocacy and educational organization dedicated to promoting the development and implementation of AI in healthcare, has released a new whitepaper, “The Lifecycle of an AI System in Healthcare,” to provide a comprehensive view on implementing AI in Healthcare. The publication looks to define the healthcare landscape (including the role of government agencies), identify the main challenges and trends associated with the development of an AI “system,” and explore how the industry landscapes intersect.
The whitepaper is addressed to readers across the healthcare community, from executives and investors to researchers and administrators, building on examples of AI implementation relevant to their day-to-day roles. The paper presents primary definitions, a blueprint for implementation, case studies, and areas for future investigation.
“Given the rapid growth of AI in healthcare, many are concerned that hype will overshadow real successes,” said Oscar Rodriguez, executive board member of AAIH, Vice President and Head of Data Engineering at Neumora, and lead author of the whitepaper. “To facilitate the success of any given AI implementation and bolster the collective effort across the industry, an important step is to define end-to-end lifecycle best practices. In this paper, AAIH proposes specific AI-lifecycle best practices and illustrates how such an implementation will work.”
AAIH will discuss this new whitepaper at a special breakfast reception, “AI + Healthcare: Past, Present & Future,” on June 15, 2022, in San Diego.
